Client FAQs
What is Nurture You?
Nurture You is a trusted online platform that connects you with vetted, qualified therapists for confidential video or phone therapy sessions. We make it easy to find professional support that fits your life.
How do I book a session?
Browse therapist profiles in the Nurture You app, select your preferred therapist, and request a session by choosing a date and time that works for you. The therapist has 24 hours to accept your request. Once accepted, you’ll receive confirmation and all the details for your session.
Are sessions online or in-person?
All sessions through Nurture You are 100% remote, via secure video call or telephone, depending on what the therapist offers.
How much do sessions cost?
Each therapist sets their own fees. Pricing is shown clearly on each therapist’s profile. You’ll pay securely through the app when booking.
Is my information private?
Yes. We prioritise your privacy. All data and communications are encrypted, and your personal details are handled in line with GDPR and industry best practices.
How do I choose the right therapist?
You can filter therapists by their area of expertise, approach, session format, and more. Each profile includes a bio, qualifications, and specialisms to help you choose someone who feels like the right fit.
Can I speak to a therapist before booking?
No. Messaging is only available after you submit a session request. Once you’ve chosen a therapist and requested a time, they have 24 hours to accept. If they don’t respond within that time, you’ll be notified and free to book with someone else.
What is the cancellation policy?
You must cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours in advance. If you cancel late or miss your session, you may be charged the full session fee based on the therapist’s policy
What if my session request isn’t accepted?
If your chosen therapist doesn’t accept your session request within 24 hours, you’ll be notified and your payment will not be processed. You can then explore and request a session with a different therapist.
Are the Therapists qualified?
Yes. Every therapist on Nurture You is professionally registered with an ethical standards body, has at least three years of post-qualification experience, and is fully vetted before being approved.
Can I change therapists later on?
Yes. If your first therapist isn’t the right match, you can request a session with someone else at any time. You’re free to explore different therapists until you find the best fit for your needs.
What do I need for a virtual session?
You’ll need a quiet, private space and a reliable internet connection for video sessions. For telephone sessions, make sure your phone is charged and you have good reception. Session access details will be provided once your booking is confirmed.
How do I register a complaint about a therapist?
We take your safety seriously.
If you experience misconduct by a therapist on our platform, you should report this directly to the therapist’s ethical standards body. You’ll find their membership number and regulatory organisation listed on their profile.
If a concern is raised, we will temporarily disable that information on their profile while it is being investigated.
Please note: Nurture You is not legally liable for therapist misconduct or negligence. Therapists on our platform are independent practitioners and are responsible for their own conduct, in line with their ethical body’s guidelines.
That said, we still want to hear from you. If you’ve had a negative experience or feel uncomfortable, please report it to us directly through the app or via email at info@nurtureyou.io We take all reports seriously and will act appropriately to protect the integrity of the platform.
Will my Therapist take notes?
Your privacy and confidentiality are fundamental to the therapy process.
- Therapists are required by professional standards to keep confidential session notes. These notes help them provide the best care and support.
- Nurture You does NOT store any session notes or personal therapy records on our platform. All notes are kept securely by your individual therapist.
- By professional guidelines, therapists keep notes for at least 5 years, after which they are securely destroyed.
- If you want access to your session notes or records, please contact your therapist directly. We do not have access to these notes and cannot provide them to you.
Can I have more than one therapist on The Nurture You App?
At Nurture You, we understand that finding the right therapist can take time and that your needs may change along the way. While it is technically possible to connect with more than one therapist, we do not recommend working with two therapists at the same time.
Therapy works best when there’s consistency and trust within a single therapeutic relationship. Working with multiple therapists simultaneously can lead to overlapping advice, mixed approaches, and potentially slower progress in your journey.
That said, if you feel your current therapist isn’t the right fit, you are absolutely free to end your sessions with them and begin working with another therapist. We’re here to support you in finding someone who feels aligned with your needs and goals.
Are there any hidden fees or extra costs when using the Nurture You app?
The Nurture You app is free to download, and you can browse content, schedule sessions and cancel them at no charge as long as cancellations are made more than 48 hours in advance. All video content is free to watch. For live video sessions, there is a small fee of £1 is added to the session price to help cover platform and streaming costs. There are no hidden charges, and you’ll always be notified of any fees before confirming a session.
